Greenfield grad wins silver at World Wrestling Championships 2010

Congratulations goes out to to Elena Pirozhkova at 138.9 lbs who hails from Greenfield High School in Massachusetts!! The last day of competition at the 2010 Moscow World Wrestling Championships was Sunday, September 12th and the final medal count: Two medals for the US women's freestyle wrestling team (silver for Elena Pirozhova, bronze for Tatiana Padilla). Elena has been on the team for 4 years(2007-2011). She has 8 siblings, likes to draw, go camping and hiking.

No medals for the US men's Greco-Roman team... and, for the first time in 35 years, no medals for the men's freestyle squad. In the last day of competition on Sunday, the last hopes for a medal for men's freestylers -- Brent Metcalf, Travis Paulson, and Les Sigman -- all came up short, and failed to place.
